Reports To: Program Director/Asst. Program Director
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the field and a strong commitment to educating future sonographers. This role involves providing practical instruction and hands-on training to students, ensuring they acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their careers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct lab sessions and hands-on training for Diagnostic Medical Sonography students.
- Demonstrate and instruct on the use of ultrasound equipment and techniques.
- Develop and implement lab activities that align with the curriculum and learning outcomes.
- Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to promote improvement.
- Maintain a safe and organized lab environment, ensuring all equipment is properly used and maintained.
- Collaborate with faculty to integrate lab experiences with classroom instruction.
- Stay current with advancements in sonography technology and practices.
- Assist in the development and revision of lab manuals and instructional materials.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and other program-related activities.
Qualifications:
- Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in sonography.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- Associate’s degree in a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Excellent communication and instructional skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Commitment to student success and professional growth.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching experience in a sonography program.
- Experience with various sonography specialties (e.g., abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular).
- Familiarity with accreditation standards and requirements for sonography programs.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $38.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
