Job Title: Electronics Verification Engineer

Location: Hybrid - Framingham, MA (3 days onsite/2 days remote)
Duration: Contract until 8/1/2025 with potential to extend or convert FTE
Pay: $70-73 per hour plus benefits
The Product Development Division is looking for a resourceful, inquisitive and hands-on Electrical Engineer. This role describes a highly skilled individual in the realm of electronics and programming that is adept at understanding, utilizing and improving complex systems and daily operations using technology. The candidate must have strong communication and documentation skills, be comfortable multi-tasking while working with various engineering disciplines and multiple project groups at a time.
The candidate is expected to work independently while interfacing with engineers to understand the project needs at hand and will execute with little oversight. A diverse skill set in electronics is a must. High-level programming knowledge and the ability to modify code are a large plus. A strong desire to learn to program is also a plus. Experience and/or interest in acoustics is desirable. This will be a new position allowing the right candidate the ability to shape the role.
The fundamental responsibilities of the Electronics Verification Engineer include:
• Verification of various attributes of new products to meet internal performance goals
• Define, setup and automate the validation of complex electro-mechanical systems
• Investigation of design issues and proposal of solutions for resolution
• Improve procedures and build out infrastructure to mitigate repetitive work
Examples of specific tasks that would be undertaken:
• Understanding of product functional and performance requirements through documentation, review of analysis and simulation results, and interfacing with the lead developers of the product
• Verification of various attributes of design intent by testing prototypes to meet performance goals
• Investigation of design issues and propose solutions
• Detailed documentation of work results
• Determination of suitable equipment and procedures for verification
• Automate repetitive tasks using Python or vendor specific software tools
• Measurement of performance of sub-circuits, analog, digital, mixed signal
• Characterization and safe handling of batteries and battery management systems
• Measurement of timing and signal integrity: USB, I2C, I2S, SPI, QSPI, Ethernet, HDMI
• Measurement of performance of sub-circuits: timing and threshold margins, thermal and supply margin
• Measurement of audio performance
• Evaluation of formal validation test results, resolution of issues
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 6+ years electronic product design and analysis experience
• Track record of design verification of complex electronics subsystems at the component/PCB level
• Experience with solving complex electronic design challenges
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
Skills and experience that would be beneficial:
• Knowledge of fundamental technology relevant to consumer electronic products (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI, digital audio)
• Experience with design and development of consumer electronic products
• Experience with C, C++, Python or JSON
• Experience with battery testing and qualification
• Experience using tools
o Electronics CAD (Cadence Allegro tools and Allegro Pulse)
• Experience with streaming audio or video applications
• Knowledge of safety and EMC regulatory requirements for electronic products
