What’s the position?
As an Internal Control Officer, you will be reporting to the VP – Finance Operations and will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial reporting by developing, implementing, and maintaining robust internal controls. You will collaborate closely with our teams in the US and Europe to prevent misstatements in financial statements and enhance the overall integrity of our financial processes.
Key responsibilities:
- Internal Control Development: Create, maintain, and audit a comprehensive system of internal controls in alignment with organizational objectives. Conduct thorough walkthroughs with external auditors to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
- Risk Management Evaluation: Evaluate, monitor, and enhance the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management processes to safeguard assets, ensure compliance with regulations, and mitigate potential risks.
- Regulatory Compliance Collaboration: Work closely with the regulatory compliance team to identify and address reporting and compliance issues, ensuring that necessary evolutions are defined and integrated into financial controls.
- Control Framework Implementation: Support the Financial Reporting Risk Assessment by designing, implementing, deploying, and maintaining a robust Control Framework.
- Advisory Role: Provide guidance to business units on control design, documentation requirements, and the auditability of controls, ensuring alignment with best practices.
- Deficiency Remediation: Assist in the identification and remediation of control deficiencies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Compliance Assurance: Orchestrate internal control and assurance processes to ensure effective compliance with GAAP reporting requirements.
- Cost Management: Manage the costs associated with compliance efforts, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Automation Support: Support initiatives aimed at automating controls to ensure effective compliance across business operations.
What are we looking for?
- Experience: Extensive experience in the i-gaming or gaming sector, particularly in finance, internal audit, or compliance roles.
- Business Acumen: Previous experience in financial business partnering or finance operations roles.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to resolve complex issues efficiently.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Team Collaboration: A proactive team player with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of fostering collaborative relationships across departments.
- Detail Orientation: Meticulous attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and integrity in all aspects of work.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and SOX requirements.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with Excel skills.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adjust working hours to accommodate Eastern Time zone requirements. Some travel for in person meeting sessions as needed.
