Jostens has a great opportunity for you! We are looking for an experienced and energetic Plant Trainer to join our team in Clarksville, TN! This Leader will be responsible for identifying, developing, and executing training strategies for the Plant production areas, and for ensuring that they are aligned with company goals. The individual plays a vital role in driving and implementing training plans, which include identifying training objectives, overseeing and/or completing training design and development, and the delivery of training. This includes working with department trainers, team leaders, and supervisors, and measuring the effectiveness of instruction, which can include a cost/benefit analysis. Additionally, they oversee the onboarding and training of new hires in operations/production, as well as monitoring and initiating any retraining needs for current workforce.
This position interacts and collaborates with human resources, safety, plant management and all production functions, and may be expected to work and assist in different department areas across the Plant, to provide support, learn and train as needed.
Incumbent supports and partners with continuous improvement engineers, as needed, to drive process improvement and safety goals in all areas.
Qualifications:
Required:
- BA degree in Business, Manufacturing, Quality, and/or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Trainer or Instructor in a Manufacturing environment.
- Excellent ability to train and develop team members to achieve goals.
- Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery, material handling and safety.
- Mechanical ability and a good understanding of productivity and quality standards as they apply to machine operation.
- Excellent computer skills, developing & tracking data (MS Office Suite, Outlook & MS Teams).
- Approachable and positive attitude in all interactions across multiple levels in the organization.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to understand and thrive in a highly demanding printing environment.
- Excellent communication & presentation skills, conveying data in a clear and concise manner.
- Has served as an effective role model, either internally or externally.
- Cross-functional communication experience.
- Results oriented individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in “made to order” business/manufacturing.
- Printing experience (Yearbook and/or Commercial).
- Good knowledge of 5S methodologies and Lean Manufacturing.
- Exposure and knowledge of Continuous Improvement initiatives.
