Based in Irvine, CA, our client provides environmental analysis/regulatory compliance, land use planning, and entitlement services.
About the Position
- The ideal candidate will have 4 - 7 years of experience in transportation planning and engineering with knowledge of the systems and processes required to execute the day-to-day function of a Transportation Engineer. The candidate will have excellent communication skills and some project management experience.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts traffic studies and analyses, including traffic impact analyses, signal timing, and safety assessments. Utilizes traffic analysis and modeling software (e.g. Vistro, Synchro, TransCAD) to interpret data and provide recommendations
- Prepares detailed designs for traffic control systems, signal improvements and roadway enhancements
- Manages projects to ensure the quality of technical and written analysis and adherence to budget and schedule
- Maintains a high-level of internal and external communications to ensure that all impacted parties are kept informed about project progress
- Ensures cross-functional quality control by reviewing project-related documents and analyses for accuracy
- Attends public hearings as needed
- Engages with the development of strategies and processes for the technical services department and company overall
- Supports positive client relations through consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Participates in continuing education to stay abreast of industry trends and maintain technical expertise
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 4 - 7 years relevant full-time work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
- Registered PE in the State of California strongly preferred
- Experience with transportation analysis software including Synchro, PTV Vistro, AutoCAD, ESRI ArcGIS, and/or TransCAD
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Strong interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills
