This role requires 30%-40% Travel to Denver, Boston, Michigan, periodically to San Diego(Corporate Headquarters), Must reside in Denver, Boston or Michigan.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The position serves a critical role in providing support to field leadership in the functional areas of Human Resources including but not limited to recruiting, employee relations, employee leave of absence and accommodation scenarios, organizational planning and development, labor law compliance, and compensation. This position will perform as an advisor to management providing guidance based on HR practices, organizational metrics, and business objectives.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide daily HR support to region and business partners.
- Partner with field leadership to understand recruiting needs and develop strategic recruitment plans that fulfill staffing requirements.
- Direct and conduct employee relations investigations
- Provide guidance to managers on various HR-related topics, including performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary action.
- Guide, train, and direct business partners on the execution of HR policies and processes to ensure appropriate legal (EEO, ADA, FMLA, etc.) and organizational compliance.
- Oversee employee leave of absence cases.
- Perform recruiting activities including applicant screening, interview scheduling, and conducting candidate interviews.
- Assess organizational needs (succession planning and employee development efforts) and partner with leadership to implement initiatives to meet needs.
- Guide management on labor law compliance.
- Participate in activities relating to background checks, unemployment claims, and employee exit interviews.
- Performs other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required, assigned, or directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of related Human Resource experience.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, and performance management.
- Prior experience within a multi-unit, multi-state retail or food services environment
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills; strong presentation, interviewing, and organization skills.
- Prior experience utilizing applicant tracking system and resume databases.
- Familiarity with recruitment techniques, competitive research, sourcing strategies, tools, and resources.
- Working knowledge of UKG and TalentReef software preferred.
- Aware of HR industry trends and standards to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of federal and state/local employment laws.
- Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior.
- Ability to travel to restaurants and other locations approximately 30% of time or as business needs require.
