We’re looking for a Director of Engineering to join our client’s team in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is a key leadership role in the aviation industry, where you'll ensure top-notch safety, compliance, and efficiency across the organization.
Job Summary:
As the Director of Engineering, you will oversee the department, ensuring adherence to the Engineering Procedures Manual and the airline’s General Maintenance Manual. You’ll provide technical support, drive reliability improvements, manage maintenance programs, and foster collaboration between maintenance, operations, and support teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with safety regulations
- Lead the Reliability department, analyze trends, and implement improvements
- Oversee the Maintenance Programs section and ensure accurate documentation
- Coordinate with departments to optimize the Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP)
- Manage the department budget and uphold company values
- Hire, supervise, coach, and develop engineering staff
- Perform additional duties to support the department
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- At least 7 years of aircraft maintenance engineering experience
- Proven leadership in aviation
- Strong understanding of FAA regulations and maintenance practices
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
