Product Manager sought for Innovative Plumbing / HVAC Component Manufacturer
Our client’s innovative vent systems, air intake systems and accessories are field proven over the past 20 years. Maintaining a cumulative average growth rate in excess of 20% for the past 8 years, their proprietary brand of flue gas vent systems is the preferred vent system for condensing heating appliances including furnaces, boilers, and water heaters. They are committed to developing and manufacturing sustainable products for the plumbing, heating, and building products markets worldwide.
Job Description:
The Product Manager will join our Sales and Marketing team reporting to our Director, National Sales and Marketing and working closely with the Engineering Manager and Engineering Team. Overall, the Product Manager is responsible for the project coordination, planning, and research required for the evolution of current product offerings and introduction of new products. The ideal candidate can work well in a fast-paced team environment as well as being independently motivated with minimal supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducts market research to determine customer’s needs and desires and identify new product opportunities in the industry.
- Collaborates with internal teams to make recommendations on nature and scope of current and future products by reviewing specifications, requirements, pricing, timelines, as well as appraising product changes.
- Provides data for product communications by defining clear marketing/ sales communications objectives and develop product sales strategies.
- Prepares short and long-term product sales forecasts, analysis and special reports for management.
- Partners with Engineering team to bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs. Liaise with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to establish time schedules for product development.
- Works with internal and external partners to position current and future products in the market
- Contributes to Sales and Engineering team goals by performing other duties, projects, and assignments as needed
- Assists management with continuous improvement
Experience and Requirements:
- Strong grasp of finance and managerial economics required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or Marketing is required; MBA is preferred
- 3-5 years of related professional experience in similar role
- 1+ year of Manufacturing industry experience preferred
- Proven experience with market research, product development and requirements and pricing analysis
- Good communication, organizational, time management skills
- Strong analytical and computer skills required
- Flexible attitude and ability to work well in a matrix environment
- Ability to travel for market research, approximately 20%
