We’re looking for a Civil or Environmental Engineer to continue their career at Jacobs – where we’ll empower you to learn and grow in the delivery of environmental site characterization and remediation projects for government and global private-sector clients – to make our world better.
Based out of the South Charleston, WV office, you’ll work with other scientists, engineers, subject matter experts, and project managers on world-class remediation projects in which you will learn from others and pass along your knowledge. Responsibilities may include remediation system operations and maintenance support, overseeing or supporting field data collection, building teams of colleagues and subcontractors, coordinating and managing fieldwork logistics, data analysis and interpretation, engineering calculations, technical report writing, and participating in meetings with clients and regulators.

This is a Hybrid position where you’ll be afforded the flexibility to work from both the South Charleston, WV office and from home as best suited to meet project delivery goals while maintaining balance. An estimated 50-75% of your time will be spent on project sites in the Charleston, WV area. Please note that limited (10-15%) travel can be expected for this role to support regional sites with similar tasks as described above.
Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering; other engineering fields will also be considered.
- Six to ten years of professional experience with delivering environmental site characterization and remediation projects, including fieldwork methodology/procedures and assessment/evaluation of data for various environmental media and system operations and maintenance.
- Experience working on project sites and overseeing subcontractors.
- Experience leading teams toward a common goal.
- 40-hr OSHA HAZWOPER certification or the ability to attain this certification.
- Ability to travel and requirement is approximately 10-15%, generally related to fieldwork and oversight.
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
- Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering.
- Professional Engineer license (P.E.) or Engineer-in-Training Certification with the desire to achieve a P.E.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with coworkers, contractors, and clients.
- Strong attention to detail when conducting field work and evaluating data.

The base salary range for this position is $80,000.00 to $118,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
