We’re seeking a seasoned Substation Design Engineer to drive the technical delivery of Physical and Protection Controls (P&C) projects across various voltage classes, including distribution, sub-transmission, and transmission levels. This is an excellent opportunity to work on innovative engineering solutions and collaborate with top-tier experts in the field.
You will be expected to:
- Serve as the technical lead for substation design on complex electrical projects, overseeing the design and execution across distribution and transmission voltage classes.
- Utilize industry standards (IEEE, IEC, NEC, NESC, NERC, ISO/RTO) to establish project requirements, review technical deliverables, and collaborate with owner and OEM teams.
- Take ownership of researching non-standard substation design elements by reviewing white papers, technical publications, and standards.
- Effectively communicate complex technical information to a diverse project team, including stakeholders with varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Lead discussions with the owner’s engineering team to address and resolve both technical and project management concerns.
You will also oversee technical troubleshooting as a technical expert, help identify client needs, and support team development.
Candidates should have 5 years experience in substation design or electrical engineering and a Bachelors degree in Engineering. Preferred requisites include a PE license, knowledge of IEC/IEEE standards, and protections and controls. You must have recent experience and understanding of high voltage systems.
