Payroll Manager
OBJECTIVE:
The payroll Manager must lead and oversee the payroll function of a dynamic organization. Commit to ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll while adhering to all relevant legal and regulatory requirements. Leverage expertise in team management, compliance, and technology integration to enhance operational efficiency, minimize errors, and contribute to the overall success of the organization. By fostering a culture of continuous improvement and maintaining a strong focus on compliance, must aim to optimize payroll processes, provide strategic insights, and deliver a seamless payroll experience for both the company and its employees.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
§ Lead and supervise the payroll team in processing accurate and timely payroll for employees.
§ Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to payroll and tax withholding.
§ Directing the collection, computing, and documentation of payroll data.
§ Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including data input, verification, and distribution of payroll checks or direct deposits.
§ Overseeing and reviewing payroll payments and account reconciliations.
§ Coordinating with HR and accounting to verify employee data and accounts.
§ Maintaining accurate account balances and detailed descriptions for auditing.
§ Directly manage and mentor a team of payroll specialists, providing guidance and support.
§ Conduct regular training sessions to keep the team updated on changes in payroll regulations and company policies.
§ Generate and analyze payroll reports for management, providing insights into payroll costs, trends, and anomalies.
§ Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues in a timely manner.
§ Address employee inquiries related to payroll matters.
§ Recommend and implement best practices in payroll administration.
§ Communicate payroll policies, changes, and updates to employees, HR, and management.
§ Oversee the implementation and maintenance of payroll systems, ensuring data integrity and system efficiency.
§ Collaborate with IT or external vendors for system upgrades and enhancements.
§ Assist with HR-related matters.
§ Brainstorm/ Create procedures relatable to the payroll department.
§ Review and audit time clocks, time systems, and timecards.
§ SUI Compliance.
§ ADP Compliance.
§ EDD Compliance.
§ Other duties assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

§ Sit in front of a monitor (screen(s)) for long periods of time.

QUALIFICATIONS:
§ Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
§ In-depth knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
§ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
§ Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
§ Strong leadership and team management skills.
§ Strong understanding of ADP Systems
§ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll software.
§ Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
§ Continuous learner with a proactive approach to staying updated on industry trends.
