JOB SUMMARY:
Plan, direct and coordinate manufacturing processes in a manufacturing plant. FABRICATION EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
below is some guidance in the type of person I am looking for. We do not want someone from an Automotive background – needs to be from a fabrication background.
Qualities / Experience:
- Experience working in a weld fabrication environment
- Products to include complete systems with welded, machined and purchase parts assembled together to produce a finished piece of 'equipment'.
- Experience reviewing assembly drawings to provide shop floor guidance for efficient start up of production runs
- Interface between the shop floor and Engineering for drawing changes
- Blueprint reading
- Knowledge to create shop floor routings to produce parts
- Basic understanding of
- Welding
- Forming
- Press brake
- Strong computer skills
- Self-motivated
Desired
- Experience setting up production lines for short production runs of 200 or less 'fabricated assemblies'
- Solid Works experience
- Experience designing tooling / fixtures for weldments
- Hands on experience in welding/forming/machining
Education/Experience
Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering and five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to read and interpret a technical data package, schematics and drawings.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to gain the trust of manufacturing personnel to be able to communicate/support their daily requirements.
Basic data entry skills, required; Microsoft Office; drafting skills (preferably computer aided).
Proven mechanical abilities, knowledge of various electrical and mechanical processes, assembly techniques and hand tool use.
