Summary:
Sterling Engineering's 25-year client is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Design Engineer to join their engineering team on a direct hire basis. This company manufactures custom electric heating elements and is located near Elk Grove Village, IL. Responsibilities:
- Design products according to customer requirements.
- Create manufacturing drawings and release orders.
- Program sheet metal parts for production.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
- Maintain design files and drawings according to ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Provide technical support to customers and the sales team.
- Assist customers with new projects and calculations.
- Evaluate customer returns as needed.
- Research raw materials and maintain drawings and specifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (GPA 3.0+)
- Proficiency in 2D software and Microsoft Office
- 2+ years of relevant experience (preferred)
- Understanding of basic electrical circuits
- Knowledge of sheet metal design
- 3D modeling skills using SolidWorks (preferred)
