Job Title: Physician Assistant
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000 depending on experience
Locations: Van Nuys (91405) OR Canoga Park (91303)
Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves obtaining health histories, performing physical examinations and laboratory tests, and diagnosing and treating the physical, social, and emotional health needs of our clients. The Physician Assistant will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including obtaining medical histories and performing physical exams for adults and children (if appropriately trained).
- Administer medical services such as Pap smears, breast exams, and other preventive or diagnostic services as necessary.
- Counsel patients on birth control options and prescribe contraceptives as appropriate.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of health conditions, collaborating with supervising physicians as needed.
- Write prescriptions and review diagnostic results, ensuring timely follow-up care.
- Provide health education and document educational activities as part of patient care.
- Assist with training and development of clinic staff.
- Participate in team meetings, quality assurance activities, and chart reviews to improve patient care.
- Offer backup support to the Nursing and Medical Directors, addressing patient inquiries, triaging walk-in patients, and responding to pharmacy and physician communications.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all clinic policies, including safety protocols and appearance standards.
- Treat all patients and employees with respect and professionalism in line with our non-discriminatory policies.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
- National Certification as a Physician Assistant.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Knowledge of nursing processes, medical assessments, diagnoses, and treatments.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to perform emergency resuscitation and provide appropriate medical treatments.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
