A facility near Boyne City, MI, is seeking a board-certified Physiatrist for a locum tenens opportunity starting in December 2024 and running through September 2025. This position focuses on inpatient care and provides an excellent opportunity for a PM&R physician who is local to the area. Job Responsibilities:
- Inpatient care with a focus on stroke recovery, amputations, and rehabilitation.
- No outpatient duties required.
- Inpatient requirement includes three notes per week.
- Daily face-to-face acute consultations as needed.
- Pre-admission screening review, discharge summaries, and weekly care plan documentation.
- Clinical staffing and care plan meetings with support from a full-time NP.
- Manage narcotic prescriptions and complete insurance peer-to-peer reviews when necessary.
Support & Environment:
- 14-bed inpatient unit with support from a full-time Nurse Practitioner (NP).
- Hospitalists can provide call coverage if a consulting model is preferred.
- Electronic Health Record (EHR): Cerner.
- No outpatient duties, strictly inpatient care.
Required Qualifications:
- Board Certified in Physiatry (no board eligibility).
- Active Michigan medical license (required at the time of submission).
- BLS certification (required).
- Local candidates onlyno exceptions.
- Clean background for fast credentialing (required).
Compensation & Reimbursement:
- On Call Rate: 24-hour rate includes 9 hours of patient contact.
- Call Back Rate: Applied after 9 hours of patient contact.
- Holiday On Call Rate: 24-hour rate includes holiday coverage.
- Weekend Call Rate: 24-hour coverage for Saturdays and Sundays.
- Orientation Rate: Paid at half the hourly rate.
Additional Information:
- This position requires clocking in and out using the Kronos systemno timesheets will be approved.
- Malpractice insurance must be included in the rates.
- No reimbursement for medical staff fees.
