Position: Mechanical Technician IV
Location: Fort Worth, TX (100% onsite)
Duration: 2+ Months Contract (With the high possibility of extension)
Shifts:
1st shift: 08:00 AM – 05:00 PM
2nd shift: 03:00 PM – 11:00 PM
3rd shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Job Description:
Scope of Position:
- Involves the application of scientific and technological principles encompassed in mechanics, hydraulics, thermodynamics, metallurgy, and machine design used for the design, production, operation, and use of machinery of all types.
Education and Experience:
- A.A.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Related
- 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment experience working with process and automation equipment.
- Knowledge of regulations applicable to the area of expertise and works to ensure compliance (OSHA, etc.). Incorporates safety and risk analysis into equipment designs.
- Equipment design background utilizing Autodesk Inventor or other 3D modeling tools; familiar with general drafting standards.

- Displays a bias for action in situations of uncertainty, addresses issues and problems proactively.
- Translates technical solutions to requirements, then further to process and/or equipment designs that deliver all required and promised performance criteria.
- Determines and recommends the best solution from a series of alternatives within plant guidelines.
- Thoroughly carries out assignments to completion.
- Works well in a team environment, is a “self-starter” and “results-oriented”.
- Communicates effectively in various settings to provide and present the necessary information to the Project and Department.
- Experience working in a manufacturing floor or construction environment, with a strong focus on job site safety. Proactive regarding safety. Seeks to identify and correct potential safety or environmental issues before they occur.
- Assures quality and repeatability of processes and products.
- Able to function in either the discipline of mechanical technology or a multi-disciplined role as defined by project assignment. Works well with other disciplines (IT, controls, and process technicians) to fully understand manufacturing system functionality and design requirements.

- The amount and duration will vary as a function of the job position, particular project, and point in the project life cycle.
Major Responsibilities:
- Develop an understanding of process and equipment functions in the area of responsibility.
- Industrialize manufacturing platforms (platform = process + equipment) for revolutionary manufacturing systems. Update the design of manufacturing platforms to resolve safety, performance, and quality issues, or reduce either the as-installed or long-term operational costs.
- Develop and use project plans and timelines to achieve project goals without sacrificing safety, intellectual property, or quality. Adhere to all Corporate, Business Unit, and Site guidelines for same.
- Develop project work plans and schedules that support overall project objectives, and complete work to agreed-to timeline.
- Direct initial equipment set-up and debug up to the point of turnover to operations.
- Develop and use mechanical, electrical and process start-up and debug checklists, drawings, and process equipment documentation. May direct technicians to create or modify the same.
- Provide troubleshooting support during equipment installation and start-up phases, identify root cause, and implement corrective actions.
- Provide training to plant personnel on the manufacturing platform as part of the turnover to operations.
- Supports the estimating and management of project budgets.
