Department: Administration, Work Hours: Primarily Monday through Friday with evenings and weekends as necessary.
This position exists to provide administrative leadership for the overall operation of the health system and for achieving the mission, vision, strategic imperatives and objectives of the organization. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) provides medical oversight, expertise, leadership and direction to ensure the delivery of quality health care services. The Chief Medical Officer’s purpose is to work with the medical staff, employed physician groups and other health care providers at Heritage Valley in planning, facilitating, and implementing the operational and clinical management of medical programs of Heritage Valley Health System. Serves as the medical statesman and primary clinical spokesperson for Heritage Valley Health System, and to represent Heritage Valley with external bodies and organizations.
Requirements:
Medical Physician with an active PA license. Advanced knowledge in Administration and/or healthcare related functions typically gained through in-depth work experience and advanced education. Demonstrated ability, experience and willingness to work with peers and other healthcare providers to resolve healthcare management issues.
Preferred:
Knowledge of and experience with quality improvement tools and techniques. An advanced degree and experience in healthcare leadership and management.
