Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a dynamic Medical Director of Clinical Development with a focus on metabolics and cardiology. This is an incredible opportunity for an individual with a board-certified endocrinology or cardiology background (preferred) who is looking to transition from academia to a rewarding role within the biotech industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the clinical research for the team's metabolics and cardiology efforts, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.
- Design, oversee, and analyze clinical trials, providing expert clinical input throughout the development process.
- Partner with external stakeholders, including key opinion leaders and regulatory agencies, to advance clinical programs.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes to inform strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
- MD with board certification in endocrinology or cardiology (preferred).
- 5 years related experience in a director or supervisory role.
- Proven experience in clinical research/trial experience, ideally within the biotech or pharmaceutical industries, with a focus on metabolics and/or cardiology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Requirements:
- Must hold or be willing to obtain a California medical license.
- This position requires onsite presence in San Diego; relocation assistance is available.
