The Senior Legal Counsel provides legal support for daily operations, focusing on real estate transactions and related matters. The incumbent will play a critical role in supporting the organization’s operations by providing expert legal guidance on real estate transactions and related matters. Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage litigation related to real estate, coordinating with external counsel as needed.
- Advise management on legal issues regarding property transactions, leases, and agency regulations.
- Participate in hearings and negotiations involving real estate disputes and investigations.
- Review contracts for property transactions and assess legal implications.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal real estate laws during transactions.
- Represent the organization in regulatory inquiries from real estate boards and agencies.
- Assist in strategic planning for real estate development, acquisitions, and sales.
- Provide training and education to staff on real estate laws and best practices.
- Manage departmental functions, including employee development and budgeting.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent legal degree, with admission to practice in relevant jurisdictions.
- 5-10 years of experience focused on real estate law and regulatory compliance.
- Strong knowledge of real estate law, agency regulations, and property management.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple real estate projects and navigate challenging situations.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
