Insight Global is looking for a Test Operator to join our client, a leading supplier of access equipment. The Test Operator will be responsible for driving boom lifts through designated courses to test their operability. Additionally, the role involves cleaning and scraping products or machines between operating the lifts to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Must Haves:
- Driver’s License
- Previous experience driving heavy machinery, trucks, etc.
Plusses:
- Associate’s Degree/HS Diploma/GED
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Operate client products following test procedures set forth by the Engineering team. Test and run machines on the load placement course, steering course, pothole, and crosstie course, and high-speed roading as test indicates as per Engineering Work Request (E.W.R.).
2. Report any failures or problems on test machines.
3. Maintain courses by cleaning mud and dirt from crosstie, pothole, drive courses. Report any problems with courses. (Loose crossties, and deep ruts.)
4. Put air hoses and electrical cords back in their proper places, sweep the shop area inside and the apron outside as needed, general cleaning of shop area which includes dusting, cleaning tools and equipment as needed.
5. Clean test machines by using a water hose. Cleaning of windows around the shop or machines.
6. Assist mechanics and technicians when needed in shop, test areas, and on tilt bed.
7. Clean and sweep tilt bed when needed.
8.Snow and ice removal from in front of shop.
9. Place rags, oil, and supplies in their proper places.
10. Clean and maintain grease guns and other equipment such as creepers, stools, ladders, carts, and benches.
11. Clean and check fluid levels in machines parked outside, clean up oil and grease spills.
12.Change and torque tires on machines, report any tire damage.
13.Check and report if any shop supplies are low.
14.Minor repairs on machines if tools and parts are available, such as lights, small hoses, and bolts and replace only if you feel confident enough to do so.
15. Check machine periodically for leaks or improper operation of components. Keep machines cleaned and fueled.
16. Sweep floors (inside and outside of the test lab).
17. Scrap machines ready for disposition.
18. Clean up lab messes.
