Engineering Manager – Hybrid Atlanta, GA
Optomi, in partnership with a leader in visual data services is seeking an Engineering Manager to join their team as a full-time employee in the Atlanta market. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working in a large-scale networked Linux environment, a high proficiency in Linux and Network Administration, and strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and grow a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative environment and culture of innovation. This is a hybrid position with a flexible schedule and employees required to be onsite 3 days per week.

Experience of the right candidate:
- 5+ years of experience in a large-scale networked Linux environment.
- BS/BA degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- In-depth understanding of CentOS, Rocky Linux, RHEL engineering on the LAMP stack.
- Strong knowledge of VMWare and network technologies (Firewalls, NFS, DNS, FTP, Rsync).
- Security-focused system administration mindset.
Responsibilities of the right candidate:
- Provide mentorship, leadership, guidance and professional development opportunities to a team of engineers.
- Supervise network hardware administration (Routers, Load Balancers, Firewalls, VPNs, ACLs, MPLS).
- Manage operational policies, security, administration and service procedures across multiple data centers.
- Document project roadmaps, timelines and progress.
- Establish performance metrics and KPIs for team members.
- Examine utilization trends, design and implement recommendations to scale architecture.
- Architect future infrastructure needs.
- Coordinate with vendors and technology partners on hardware and software purchases.
