Job Title: Project Manager - IT
Location: Springfield, MA
Job Summary:
The Project Manager will lead cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of IT projects, managing timelines, milestones, dependencies, and addressing risks and issues. This role requires working closely with stakeholders, vendors, and sponsors to align project outcomes with business strategies while ensuring compliance with the SDLC methodology and project management best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage cross-functional project teams, coordinating efforts across multiple workstreams.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans using MS Project, monitoring all project tasks, deliverables, timelines, and dependencies.
- Oversee the technical project team, assess resource and budget needs, and ensure alignment with overall business goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to ensure effective project delivery and maintain strong relationships.
- Ensure consistent use of tools and documentation across projects, following SDLC methodology for all modifications, conversions, and implementations.
- Track project/program progress, resource plans, and manage budgets, including forecasts and actuals, ensuring adherence to approved funding.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders, driving engagement and awareness.
- Take accountability for the delivery of quality solutions, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Manage risks, resolve issues, and escalate as necessary to prevent impact on project timelines.
- Lead the delivery of platform enhancements or complex initiatives by partnering with internal and external experts (business, technical, compliance, etc.).
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing strategic input to influence business strategies and project direction.
- Remove barriers and resolve conflicts to keep projects on track, negotiating priorities and solutions as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- PMP Certification (or equivalent) and fluency in PMBOK methodology.
- Experience with Agile methodologies (CSM preferred but not required).
- Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- 3-5 years of experience in financial services or insurance industries.
- 4+ years of IT experience managing large-scale programs or portfolios, with integration experience.
- 2+ years of vendor management and contract negotiations (SOW/Invoice).
- Strong financial acumen, particularly in managing program/portfolio budgets.

Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
