Job Title: Engineering Technician D (1st Shift) (4/10) Job Code: 16092 Job Location: Palm Bay, FL Job Description: Employee will be responsible for performing a wide variety of operations on all levels of electrical assemblies. They must understand and interpret a variety of technical specifications, engineering drawings, and written work instructions. Technician shall be able to solder, build mechanical assemblies with hand tools and torque drivers, work under a microscope, and mix and apply epoxies. Attention to detail is a must, as well as being highly interactive and willing to work in a team environment, while continually learning new skills.
Essential Functions: - Candidate will be responsible for ensuring deliverables meet all performance requirements through manufacturing processes.
- Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing assembly using manufacturing procedures and processes.
- Reads engineering drawings and manufacturing work instructions as well as completes paperwork with no errors.
- Works microelectronic hardware assembly, along with having knowledge of MIL-STD-883 for compliance.
- Ability to work inside multichip modules (caps, bare die, substrates, wirebonds etc) with tweezers, soldering irons, and epoxy dispense equipment.
- Ability to work under high levels of magnification (30-40x) to ensure quality of workmanship.
- Works within a cleanroom environment (ISO Class 8.0) requiring daily use of personal protective equipement (PPE).
- Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to drawings and program specific specifications in the building of complex electromechanical assemblies for Avionics and Space Programs.
Qualifications: - Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- Prior microelectronics experience working under a microscope near bare die and wire bonds.
Preferred Additional Skills: - Background in the manufacturing of electronics for high reliability military and government systems.
- Knowledge of microelectronic assembly along with MIL-STD-883 & MIL-PRF-38534.
- Good PC and communication skills.
- Willing to work: off shifts, overtime, at different locations and be open to quickly changing priorities.
- Operation of microelectronics' manufacturing equipment.
