CSP has partnered with a local non-profit in their search for a Senior Director of HR.
The Senior Director of HR (SDHR), reporting to the CFO and participating as a member of the Executive Committee, is charged with leading and implementing the human resources strategy in line with the client’s objectives. Heading a team of seven HR professionals, the SDHR will oversee the planning, development, and execution of HR policies and initiatives aimed at promoting a positive, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture. This role is on-site five days a week in Windsor Mill, MD.
Responsibilities:
- Direct the HR strategy to align with organizational goals and enhance workforce readiness by promoting leadership development for managers and facilitating career growth for all team members through training, development, and change management initiatives.
- Work closely with senior leadership to develop and execute strategies for talent acquisition, management, retention, and succession planning that meet current and future organizational needs while optimizing talent.
- Create, implement, and oversee a comprehensive feedback system for managers, which includes one-on-ones, constructive feedback, developmental objectives, outcomes, and annual performance reviews to boost employee engagement and growth.
- Advocate for diversity and inclusion initiatives, supporting equitable practices and nurturing a positive workplace culture.
- Foster strong relationships with employees and management to cultivate positive work environments, assess talent requirements, and drive organizational success.
- Supervise the creation, implementation, and monitoring of HR policies, ensuring adherence to FMLA, ADA, EEO, AAP, OIG, and other relevant regulations.
- Handle employee relations matters, including performance management, policy interpretation, and disciplinary actions, ensuring timely resolution of HR-related inquiries and compliance with external agencies (e.g., EEOC, unemployment).
- Oversee the management of HR data related to workflows, employee records, performance management, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Develop and oversee the HR department budget, ensuring that all expenditures align with organizational objectives.
- Conduct exit interviews, retention surveys, and feedback processes, synthesizing findings to inform senior leadership.
Education & Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resource management, or a related discipline.
- At least 7 years of relevant management experience is required. SHRM Certification is highly preferred. An ideal candidate will show a clear career progression from entry-level HR positions, such as recruitment or employee relations, to overseeing HR operations and developing talent strategies. Demonstrated experience in presenting HR data to leadership and managing a team of HR professionals is essential, along with a proven track record of aligning HR practices with organizational objectives.
- Significant experience in a complex nonprofit organization with multiple programs is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in using an integrated HRIS system is required.
- Familiarity with Paycom is a plus
