Job Summary: Seeking an organized and motivated Electrical Engineer who will effectively support a fast-paced work environment with the Naval Division in Middletown, RI. You will be part of a collaborative team of engineers and support technicians working to bring a variety of electrical designs from the early concept stage all the way through fabrication. The local Middletown office supports automated test equipment design, printed circuit board design (PCB), cable design, and acoustic system design. Support can vary from Research & Development to Production Support tailoring both skills and interests of the prospective employee to fill the role.
Work Schedules: Flexible work schedule options are also available. If desired, engineers may partake in a 9/80 schedule to have every other Friday off or a 4/10 schedule if desired.

Your projects will include the design, documentation and testing of a wide array of electrical and electronic systems in the areas of undersea defensive systems, torpedo test equipment, Automated Test Equipment (ATE), sonar electronics, analog, digital, and system design and other evolving tasking.
Job Duties:
- You will design and test electronic systems for embedded underwater applications, custom data acquisition systems, and automated test hardware for land-based testing of naval systems.
- You will develop and execute test plans for new designs and document your results.
- You will design and document systems and circuits in OrCAD, Eagle, Visio, Altium, or PADS.
- You will have powerful computer, software, and test equipment resources at your disposal to allow you to be effective and efficient in your job.
- Candidates must demonstrate a history of excelling at multiple concurrent challenges and an eagerness and aptitude for learning new things.
- Work in an interdisciplinary collaborative environment with other groups of engineers, logisticians, technicians, and draftsman to ensure the design meets requirements.
- You will review specifications, requirements, schematics, bill of materials, mechanical drawings, and test plans created by senior engineering for accuracy.
- Create/Review well documented notes of design changes to maintain version control of drawings.
- You will be troubleshooting both large scale systems and individual system components or a larger scale system.
- REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and five (5) years or more experience .
- 5+ years in engineering design, analysis, and testing.
- Electronic design in the area of test equipment, power electronics, amplifiers, filtering, signal conditioning, and/or high-speed digital.
- Schematic entry using a schematic capture tool.
- Experience creating technical data package quality drawings for electronic systems.
- Ability to read and understand complex electrical and mechanical drawings along with their associated system level TDP.
- Hands on troubleshooting using test equipment to help isolate problems and ability to generate solutions.
- Familiarity with System Engineering concepts.
- Ability to interact directly with customers to extract requirements, generate a plan and report status.
- CLEARANCE REQUIRMENT: Must be able to initially obtain an Interim Secret Clearance and then obtain and hold an Active Secret Clearance for the duration of work on the contract.
- DESIRED: PCB design with Mentor Graphics PADS Layout, Cadence OrCAD PCB Designer, Altium, or Eagle.
- Experience with MATLAB, data manipulation, processing, and visualization.
- FPGA experience using Vivado for Xilinx hardware (FPGAs, SOCs, MPSOCs etc.) or Quartus for Intel products in Verilog and VHDL.
- Developing and executing test plans for electronic subsystems.
- Experience with soldering and debugging circuits.
- Hands on lab experience using oscilloscopes, function generators, network analyzers etc.
- Experience with marine hardware including ROVs, UUVs, sonar, arrays, and transducers.
- Familiarity with National Instruments products including PXI, LabView, or CVI.
