Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Project Manager to join the team. The ideal candidate will have 10–25 years of experience in the water/wastewater industry, with at least 10 years of project management experience in building plants. We prefer candidates from the Austin area to avoid relocation and to ensure a good cultural fit within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management:
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Cost/Change Control:
- Manage cost and change control, including change order review, negotiation, and recommendations. Ensure tracking of all key project documents.
- Scheduling:
- Create and maintain weekly schedules to ensure budget management and tracking.
- Compliance:
- Ensure all work complies with relevant building and safety codes.
- Contract Management:
- Provide direction over contracts and subcontracts, and manage subcontractor and supplier relationships.
- Coordination:
- Coordinate with Superintendents regarding schedules, labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Quality Control:
- Review costs and quality daily, addressing any significant budget or quality issues.
- Documentation:
- Control and monitor extra Work Orders, plan revisions, and project documentation.
- Meetings:
- Conduct weekly key project update meetings and ensure all recaps are signed daily.
- Customer Service:
- Provide superior customer service and effectively communicate with subcontractors.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and HCSS products.
- Strong interpersonal and human relations skills.
- The ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs.
- Superior customer service skills.
Minimum Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Degree in Construction Management preferred).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years in project management within the water/wastewater industry.
- Certifications/Licenses:
- Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA and safety requirements. Valid driver’s license.
Physical Demands
- The ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
- Office-based work with varying temperatures.
- Extensive computer use and keyboarding activities.
- Occasional travel to job sites with fluctuations in weather.
