Job Title: Training Specialist (Instructional Designer)

Akkodis is seeking a Training Specialist/Instructional Designer for a contract position in Dallas, TX. This will be a hybrid schedule with 3 days/week onsite. The desired candidate will have 5 years work experience in communications, training, instructional design or related field. You will be responsible on conducting training needs analysis and designing and developing market related and customer focused training curriculums, programs and communication materials using effective instructional design methodologies and technologies. These communications and training materials are critical to ensure that employees are timely and accurately informed and/or trained on information critical to providing superior customer service and complying with market and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities:
- Attend meetings with internal and outsourced service provider cross-functional teams to ensure new processes and changes to existing processes are accurately trained.
- Design, develop, and deliver training and development programs that comply with regulations, company policies, procedures, work rules and management expectations and include an appropriate variety of instructional methods, settings, and technologies.
- Develop electric market-related communications and training documents.
- Develop E-learning modules, PowerPoints, and scripts for E-Learning.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to conduct training needs analysis and identify appropriate training solutions.
- Interface and develop trust with employees, management, and customers, foster effective teamwork, and apply effective project management, problem solving, change management, and time management skills.
- Communicate complex subject matter to a variety of audiences.
- Conduct workshops and focus groups to analyze, develop, and document process flows.
- Provide support for online knowledgebase tools which contain detailed information for employees regarding work processes and procedures.
- Stay abreast of training methodology and tools for various levels of training delivery.
- Assist Technical Writer as needed.
Skills:
- Bachelors Degree in communications, training, instructional design or related field preferred.
- 5 years’ work experience in communications, training, instructional design or related field.
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with eLearning authoring tools (ex: Captivate or Articulate), learning management systems, and multimedia technology a plus.
- Ability to work in an open, collaborative environment.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong process design and development skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent planning, organizational, time management, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
- Self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
- Experience in the electric utility industry preferred
