IT Risk Management/Business Continuity Lead
Remote in AL, MS, GA, FL, TX, NC, SC, MD, VA, DC, or IL
9 month contract to hire
$60-75/hr W2 only
This role will lead and manage the Technology Organization’s Business Continuity Program, including Crisis Management. It will also assist with other risk and compliance tasks during less busy periods. Reporting to the Technology Risk and Compliance Manager, this position is part of the Risk and Compliance team in Technology Services, which oversees different compliance programs and provides risk management services.
Job responsibilities
- Oversee and develop the Technology Organization (TO) Business Continuity Program.
- Collaborate with technology staff to update the business continuity plan (BCP) annually.
- Create and manage the yearly testing and exercise schedule for the BCP.
- Work with TO Leadership, including the CIO, to execute continuity plans during events.
- Present program updates to executive leadership.
- Assess recovery strategies with critical activity owners.
- Provide training and conduct awareness workshops for responding staff.
- Develop, apply, and revise the business impact analysis with the Enterprise Resilience Team.
- Lead the TO crisis management process and integrate related plans.
- Establish and manage a comprehensive crisis management strategy.
- Facilitate execution and testing of the crisis management process.
- Report on the Crisis Management Program's status to executive leadership.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert on technology risk and control activities.
- Represent the TO in various auditing activities.
- Perform risk assessment of new applications and their supporting infrastructure.
- Facilitate the development and documentation of TO Policies and Standards.
- Provide management level summaries of risk and compliance issues to senior management.
- Develop, document, and publish metrics to measure success for the TO.
- Identify and recommend operational efficiency changes for compliance activities.
- Assist in the updates of the Technology Organization Risk profile.
Education Requirements
College graduate preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in information security, information assurance, computer science, management information systems, computer information systems, or a related discipline.
Preferred Certifications
Industry certifications including but not limited to:
- Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management: ABCP, CBCP, CDRE, CFCP, MBCP, CMCS
- Risk Management: CRISC, CISA, CGEIT
Experience Requirements
Prior experience in disaster recovery, business continuity or crisis management

- Skilled in managing Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery/Crisis Management programs.
- Knowledgeable in enterprise risk management, including threat, vulnerability management, and risk treatment.
- Detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment with strong oral and written communication skills across all levels.
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with departments, auditors, and management effectively.
- Capable of understanding complex technical information and translating it for non-technical audiences.
- Possesses strong analytical skills, a positive attitude, team spirit, and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrates effective time management, business judgment, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Balances compliance and technical operational requirements while diplomatically navigating internal and external relationships at all levels.
- Skilled in facilitating discussions with employees and senior executives and managing external consultants for process and program development activities.
The compensation range for this position is $60 to $75/hr W2
(dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
