CAL IT Group is a growing full-service Managed Services Provider (MSP) currently seeking a Systems Engineer. You will install, upgrade and troubleshoot hardware and software systems. If you’re computer-savvy, enjoy supporting end users, and looking to learn new technologies in a fast-paced environment, we’d like to meet you! To succeed in this role, you should have a problem-solving attitude along with the ability to give clear technical instructions and be able to communicate clearly both verbally and written. You should be familiar with remote troubleshooting techniques. Ultimately, you will ensure prompt and accurate customer service and increase client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain customer IT systems, including servers, networks, and storage solutions
- Provide remote and on-site technical support for clients, resolving IT issues promptly and effectively
- Configure and manage LAN/WAN networks, firewalls, routers, and switches
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect clients’ networks and data
- Monitor and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions, ensuring data integrity and availability
- Deploy and manage cloud-based solutions
- Maintain detailed documentation of client systems, networks, and configurations
- Lead IT projects from planning to implementation, coordinating with clients and team members
- Track customer issues and resolutions with using our ticketing system
- Provide escalation support to our service desk team
- Build rapport with clients
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in IT systems administration/engineering, preferably in an MSP environment
- 4-Year College Degree or equivalent experience in a similar position
- Proficient in Windows Server and Active Directory
- Microsoft 365 & Azure Management
- VMware vSphere management
- At least 1 Moderate Level certification required (e.g. Microsoft, CompTIA)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
- Positive and professional demeanor
- Must demonstrate the ability to effectively work independently
- Must have strong organizational, priority and time management skills with the ability to multitask
- Reliable personal vehicle with the ability to drive to clients as required
- Ability to participate in after hours on-call rotation
