Client is looking for a ULH Transport Engineer in Richardson, TX. Ideal candidate would come from operations, field or engineering space, working with Ciena products (6500). Hybrid role, 2-3 days per week onsite.
Must-haves
7+ years experience with ULH transport engineering
Experience with LD, ULH and OTN networks
Strong experience with Ciena (6500), Cisco or Fujitsu transport equipment
Technical experience designing SONET and DWDM transport systems
Equipment engineering and capacity planning experience
Strong fiber optics background
Plusses:
Infinera experience
Experience with ICON, CCP, BGW, MECCA, NAUTILUS, CANVAS, TCOMS or nSAP

An employer is looking for a ULH Transport Engineer in the Richardson, TX area. Your primary role will be to define, engineer and resolve network capacity requirements for the client's long haul and metro transport network, utilizing high capacity lightwave/ wave division multiplexing technologies to monitor network services capacity, vulnerability and growth requirements. You will plan, forecast and engineer LD/ ULH transport network infrastructure and perform detailed equipment engineering for network augments. You will be managing multiple projects simultaneously and ensure all milestones and SLAs are met. Additional tasks will include building BOMs, perform wavelength rearrangements, ensure all work meets engineering standards and manage/ update the network inventory database to reflect new builds.
