Job Title: Master Planner/Sr. Scheduler
Key Responsibilities:
· Advanced Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize the master production schedule to ensure timely and efficient production.
- Utilize advanced planning tools and techniques to balance supply and demand effectively.
- Responsible for consolidating customer orders, material status, procurement plan, process, capacity and lead-time to mid/long term forecast as well as the operations plan.
· Reorder Points (ROP) and Safety Stocks:
- Establish and manage reorder points and safety stock levels to prevent stock outs and overstock situations.
- Monitor inventory levels and adjust reorder points and safety stocks based on changing demand patterns and lead times.
· Low-Volume, High-Mix Planning:
- Design and implement planning strategies for low-volume, high-mix production environments.
- Responsible for timely creation of production orders to meet customer demand for assigned materials utilizing MRP and a detailed capacity plan for multiple work centers.
- Verifies component availability before releasing manufacturing orders to the production floor.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that production schedules align with customer requirements and business objectives.
· Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels, minimize carrying costs, and reduce waste.
- Analyze inventory performance and develop strategies to improve inventory turnover and reduce excess stock.
· Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance scheduling efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track scheduling and planning effectiveness.
- Working knowledge of material master maintenance, BOM’s, routings/recipes and work centers.
· Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with procurement, production, and sales teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Provide timely updates and reports to management on scheduling, inventory, and production status.
· Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in master planning, scheduling, and inventory management, with a strong focus on advanced planning, ROP, safety stocks, and low-volume/high-mix environments.
· Certification:
- CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) or APICS certification is desired.
· Skills:
- Expertise in advanced planning and scheduling software and tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
· Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
