Job Description Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Scientist or Engineer to lead a translational health research center. The Director will drive the growth of a nationally recognized research hub by fostering collaborations with industry, researchers, and clinicians, while also building a strong externally funded research program. The ideal candidate will focus on computational health research in areas like bioinformatics, AI, and data analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead an externally funded research program.
- Collaborate with healthcare entities and academic institutions.
- Provide oversight and leadership for the center.
- Maintain a safe, compliant lab environment.
- Participate in key conferences and meetings, with occasional travel.
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or M.D. in a health-related field (e.g., biology, biomedical engineering, chemistry).
- Qualified to serve as a principal investigator on federal research grants.
- Proven experience in securing and managing federal grants.
- Strong research background and interdisciplinary team leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a director or administrator of a research center.
- Familiarity with grant platforms (e.g., NIH ASSIST, FastLane).
- Experience with institutional review boards (IRB, IACUC).
