Serve as the technical support contact for sales and a key resource for manufacturing and machine shop operations. Responsibilities include generating quotes, component drawings, and top assembly drawings.
Job Description:
- Develop quotations for custom-engineered solutions.
- Implement engineering change notifications (ECNs) to engineering prints.
- Liaise with customers to design solutions that meet their cost and engineering requirements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure builds adhere to customer timelines and design specifications.
Major Responsibilities:
- Engage directly with customers, vendors, and sales teams to determine application needs and optimal product design.
- Design solutions that align with technical, pricing, and scheduling expectations. Obtain vendor quotes, estimate labor, determine tooling needs, and address risks and R&D requirements.
- Provide detailed cost estimates including quantities, material costs, labor, tooling, pricing, and delivery times. Create necessary sketches and drafts.
- Develop production drawings, component drawings, purchase specifications, and bills of materials for new products.
- Manage engineering change orders for manufacturing prints.
- Assist in transitioning new projects to production, including vendor coordination, tooling, and production scheduling to meet customer and company commitments.
- Support manufacturing to enhance efficiency and quality.
Minimum Requirements:
- Mechanical engineering degree preferred; electrical or other engineering degrees considered.
- 4-6 years in a manufacturing engineering environment.
- 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing role is a plus.
Skills Required:
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Aptean M2M ERP.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
