Senior Civil Engineer - Water Resources

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer - Water Resources to lead water resource projects for public and private clients. In this senior role, you will collaborate with project managers and engineers to oversee the design and execution of stormwater management, drainage design, and erosion control projects. You will also play a key role in maintaining and expanding client relationships, ensuring project success, and mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and execution of drainage and stormwater management systems, including hydraulic calculations and modeling
- Oversee the preparation of detailed reports and analyses related to water resources
- Develop and implement erosion and sediment control practices
- Review and provide high-level guidance on project plans, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal code requirements
- Conduct site inspections and participate in client and project meetings
- Manage and mentor junior engineers, providing technical oversight and career development guidance
- Maintain and grow relationships with clients by delivering quality, innovative solutions
- Perform quantity take-offs, prepare cost estimates, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Collaborate with internal teams to meet project milestones and submission deadlines
- Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals and client presentations
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in stormwater, drainage, and hydraulic design
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD software (e.g., MicroStation or AutoCAD); experience with Open Roads, Civil 3D, and HydroCAD is preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and teams
- Experience working with public agencies and private clients, particularly in the water resources sector
- Valid driver’s license
