We are seeking an Operations Technology Engineer for a manufacturing client. The Operations Technology Engineer will support and implement Industrial Control Systems (ICS) in accordance with the company's standards, collaborating closely with Process Control, Cyber Security, Infrastructure, Audit, Governance, and Mill leadership teams to ensure alignment with operational goals and cybersecurity protocols. This role involves managing OT systems, driving IT/OT integration efforts, and maintaining seamless operations within our facilities.
Candidates for this role must be local to Kalamazoo and comfortable being onsite Monday-Friday. This is a full time, direct-hire role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support OT initiatives and ensure smooth integration of IT policies into the OT domain.
- Manage the full life cycle of OT/ICS equipment, from deployment to maintenance.
- Lead local efforts in the implementation of ICS standards in line with corporate policies.
- Collaborate with Audit, Governance, and Cyber teams to ensure strong security posture and world-class support for manufacturing operations.
- Oversee incident response efforts in coordination with the Security and Cyber Response teams.
- Provide OT leadership in production meetings and work closely with Process Control teams to maintain system stability.
- Manage and maintain OT systems, including Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Quality Control Systems (QCS), ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Lead and prioritize local OT projects, ensuring successful execution within budget and scope.
- Coordinate vendor relations and training for OT systems, ensuring teams are equipped to maintain system operations.
Key Qualifications:
- Must have 5+ years of experience in OT systems support and integration, particularly within manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of Industrial Control Systems, including PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and ICS communication protocols (OPC-DA/UA, HART, Profinet, etc.).
- Experience with industrial networking, cybersecurity controls (NIST, ISA 62443), and IT/OT infrastructure.
- Proven track record of leading OT project deployments, including system configuration, documentation, and training.
- Strong analytical skills, along with the ability to communicate technical concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent project leadership skills, with experience managing OT/IT projects and associated budgets.
