Coordination of general activities related to budgeting, cost analysis, and planning of activities and resources for the New Marine Terminal project to be built in Brownsville, Texas.
The candidate will serve as the liaison with the Project Managers and Internal Clients regarding cost management and control, ensuring efficient and effective communication.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
- Preparation of accurate, high-quality reports that reflect the status of the project and provide a clear understanding of variations from the budget plan, as well as the economic forecast for its completion.
- Monitor and analyze project costs, identifying potential deviations and proposing corrective measures based on analysis and development of conclusions.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial and cost data, maintaining a detailed and up-to-date record of all transactions.
- Elaborate the overall budget by integrating data provided by Project Engineers.
- Manage the project schedule by incorporating data provided by project members, identifying conflict points, and proposing alternative solutions.
Education: Graduate of Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or related fields.
- Language: Bilingual – advanced Spanish and English.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of cost control principles and practices such as WBS coding, Trend Analysis, Budgeting and Planning, Cost Analysis, and General Cost Control.
- Experience and proficiency in SAP, MS Project, and intermediate-level Excel (charts, databases, pivot tables, formulas).
- High level of numerical analysis.
- Strong written communication and summarization skills.
- Proactive and capable of autonomous work.
- Results-oriented, with a focus on problem identification and proposing solutions.
- Teamwork-oriented and effective with people from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and countries.
- Understanding of the needs of internal and external clients, with timely and appropriate responses.
