Job title: UI Art Director

About the Role
The UI Art Director is key to user interface design and is passionate about building engaging customer experiences. At McCann Detroit, this role will focus on site design, while contributing to brand digital advertising campaigns.
The UI Art Director will use Figma to evolve content and push the site design to meet industry trends and best practices. They should possess a solid understanding of modular design and familiarity with HTML and CSS. Along with a current and clear understanding of fundamental UI/UX principles.
This role reports to a brand Creative Director and works with the entire creative team.
Required Professional Design Expertise:
- Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, with expertise and focus on interface intent and the end user.
- Familiarity working with a content management systems and understanding asset requirements.
- Strong expertise with Figma
- Defining, building and managing shared Figma components.
- Experience with the technical constraints and limitations of different common technologies.
- Must demonstrate good communication, organization, written and presentation skills.
- Ability to produce prototypes for research studies that validate and iteratively improve the components or features of the system.
- Strong attention to details
- Have an ability to manage and prioritize your workload and projects to be productive and deliver on time, every time.
- Must be a collaborative team player with the ability to earn the trust of clients and colleagues.
- Adobe Creative Suite
Preferred Professional Design Expertise:
- Experience or familiarity with designing for accessibility standards.
- Experience using and defining design systems for large-scale digital experiences.
- Working knowledge of these UX design tools specifically:
- Figma
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interaction design, HCI, or equivalent related work experience.
- Preferred 2-5 years of experience in an interaction design role at a digital agency or corporation that had a design system you worked on.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning and oral/written communication skills
- HTML and CSS coding skills are a plus.
Physical, Travel & Other Requirements (if applicable):
Some local travel by car for meetings as appropriate (typically Detroit area)
Working in fast-paced environment
