Position Title: Federal NOTAM Systems (FNS)
SUMMARY/ Duties Works independently under general guidelines or objectives
Aeronautical Information Management Modernization (AIMM) provides Aeronautical Common Services (ACS) as the single trusted access point of Aeronautical Information including Special Activity Airspace, Federal NOTAM System, and airport configuration data Integration and ingestion of eNational Airspace System Resource (eNASR) and Special Use Airspace (SUA) Management System (SAMS) data through eNASR and SAMS SWIM services.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Review and comment on system engineering documents; system requirement documents; system testing documents
2. Attend system design reviews; technical interchange meetings; any other meetings as requested to support program and team
3. Possess a technical understanding of systems; databases; networking; computing environments; virtualization
4. Possess a technical understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA); Java Message Service (JMS); Web Services (NOT Web Page Development); Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) Communication Protocol
5. Develop and manage system engineering artifacts; system requirements artifacts; system testing artifacts; required product baseline artifacts.
6. Able to read/decipher/troubleshoot XML files and WSDLs
7. Create and conduct Web Service tests using SoapUI test program
8. Ability to support software applications in Unix and Windows environments
9. Ability to debug software issues in Unix and Windows environments
10. Create and maintain automated tools using various scripting languages such as (Python, Bash, Curl, SQL)
11. Provide 2nd level engineering support for the Federal NOTAM System (FNS)
12. Support system development/testing/integration/deployment activities for FNS
13. Participate in system test and key site test activities as a tester
Education
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Math, or a bachelor’s degree in another technical field
(3) years of related work experience in a computer science or math field or
Master’s Degree in any field of study with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours of either undergrad or grad study in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and one (1) year related work experience in a computer science or math field.
