We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator with 4-5 years of expertise in subdivision and commercial sitework. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in earthwork and utility takeoffs, as well as hands-on experience with Agtek software for quantity takeoffs and estimating.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, grading, and paving for residential subdivisions and commercial site developments.
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates based on project blueprints, specifications, and other related documents.
- Analyze project specifications and collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to understand project scope and requirements.
- Utilize Agtek software to accurately estimate quantities for earthwork, utility installation, and grading.
- Review and interpret project plans, proposals, and specifications to identify potential risks and cost savings opportunities.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to obtain pricing for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Create and maintain databases for cost estimation purposes, ensuring accuracy and consistency across multiple projects.
- Assist with value engineering and project bidding processes to ensure competitive and profitable project delivery.
- Prepare and present detailed cost summaries, including breakdowns of materials, labor, and equipment.
- Track project costs during the construction phase and adjust estimates as necessary to reflect changes in scope or design.
Qualifications:
- 4-5 years of experience in construction estimating, specifically for subdivision and commercial sitework projects.
- Proficiency in earthwork and utility takeoffs, with a strong understanding of civil engineering principles.
- Extensive experience using Agtek software for quantity takeoffs and estimates.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and regulations related to site development.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with other estimating software such as Bluebeam or HeavyBid.
