Sterling Search Partners is helping a River Region client with its search for VP of Compliance & Risk. The Vice President of Compliance and Risk is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the organization’s compliance and risk management framework. This role ensures adherence to legal and regulatory requirements while safeguarding the organization’s assets and reputation.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance Management:
- Develop and implement comprehensive compliance programs aligned with industry regulations.
- Monitor compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps.
Risk Management:
- Lead the organization’s risk assessment processes to identify, analyze, and mitigate risks.
- Develop risk management policies and procedures.
- Monitor emerging risks and provide strategic recommendations to mitigate them.
Training and Awareness:
- Design and deliver training programs for employees on compliance and risk management practices.
- Promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior throughout the organization.
Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare regular reports for senior management and the board on compliance and risk status.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors.
Team Leadership:
- Build and manage a high-performing compliance and risk management team.
- Foster collaboration across departments to ensure compliance and risk considerations are integrated into business processes.
Policy Development:
- Develop, implement, and review company policies related to compliance and risk management.
- Ensure that policies are updated in accordance with changing regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field; a Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CRCM, CERP) is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements relevant to the industry.
