Position Summary:
The Director of Finance is a key member of the Senior Management Team and is responsible for planning and directing all aspects of the Finance department. Specific responsibilities include Finance team leadership, strategic planning, budgets, financial systems, and reporting.
The ideal candidate will be a passionate leader with strong communication and business skills, a commitment to customer satisfaction, and the ability to inspire and guide a team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Teamwork:
- Be a major contributor to the overall Senior Management Team’s leadership of the business.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Monitor team performance, set goals, and provide regular feedback and coaching.
- Deliver strategic leadership for defining pathways to growth and profitability of the business.
- Develop collaborative working relationships within the organization and with vendors/cooperators in pursuit of the of the company’s overall business/financial goals.
Functional Responsibilities:
- Prepare annual budgets; partner to determine spending priorities to maximize business growth and operations, new customer capture and retention of existing customer; help to manage monthly expenses, analyzing variances and initiate corrective actions as needed.
- Directing all aspects of Johnny’s accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Providing strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs and ESOP Planning-oversee ESOP-TPA relationship.
- Developing and coordinating all relationships with lending/financial institutions, Insurance providers and vendors.
- Coordinating, preparing, and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Managing all tax planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property, and other applicable taxes.
- Coordinate and oversee all financial annual audits, valuation work and ESOP Trustee requirements.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting required.
- CPA or MBA Preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in mid-level to senior finance leadership roles.
- Skills and Abilities:
- In depth understanding of Financial metrics, including demonstrated experience with financial systems.
- Experience sufficient to maintain proper GAAP practices and procedures.
- Background in corporate finance in a high growth environment.
- Experience with ESOP is preferred.
- Analytical and creative problem solver with high detail orientation.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to build consensus and partner within a senior management team and board.
