We are looking for a thorough Service Technician to undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of the premises. Perform duties that may involve light plumbing repair; HVAC maintenance; light carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings, or floors. Demonstrate your mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and ability to read diagrams and schematics. The ability to repair and maintain AC units, walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, modular restaurant refrigeration equipment, ovens, PHUs, ice machines, and reach-in coolers. Strong ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, and to follow manuals on operation and installation to successful complete tasks
Strong ability to apply various types of equipment safely and efficiently, and to maintain and service them
Exceptional ability to work independently without direct supervision and take responsibility for the repair of assigned equipment
Strong ability to prioritize assigned tasks for increased job delivery
Exceptional ability to properly investigate problems with food equipment, discover the issue, and correct it
Ability to work in a team setting with other maintenance workers, and also with staff and members of the public.
Strong ability to quickly understand and carry out both written and oral instructions effectively.
Possess refrigerant transition and recovery certification.
Repair and maintenance experience in the commercial kitchen or dinning service field
Strong knowledge of plumbing repair and installation practice and procedure
Strong knowledge of basic electrical practice, theory, and safety
Strong knowledge of the fundamental of commercial refrigeration practice and theory.
Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License for at least three years with no major traffic violations or accidents within the past 3-5 years, (a term related to occurrence). Minor violations shall be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Service multiple locations.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and lift or move heavy equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other manuals and documents.
- Self-motivated with the proven ability to prioritize and work independently with minimal direct supervision.
- May be required to occasionally work outside of normal work hours.
- Complete work orders in a timely manner.
- Regularly inspect grounds, building, and kitchen equipment and systems
Minimum Qualifications:
- HVAC/R: 1 year (preferred)
- EPA Type II
- Refrigeration
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of technical experience and knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems (including relevant equipment and tools) is a plus.
