Desired Skills & Experience
- At least 3 years of professional experience related to electrical/automation design & support
- Minimum 3 years of comprehensive experience with Rockwell Software (Allen Bradley) is required, and additional Siemens background
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical.
- Familiarity with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC and HMI software.
- Experience with the National Electric Code (NEC) and hazardous area installations.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
- Lean Six Sigma background
- Skilled in electrical troubleshooting.
- BA in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or Controls
Job Description:
As an Automation Engineer, you will oversee individual small to medium electrical projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to budget and schedule. Your responsibilities will include providing comprehensive electrical engineering designs, creating CAD drawings, and implementing automation technologies such as PLCs and HMIs.
Day to Day:
- Manage the electrical and automation aspects of capital and aftermarket (parts/service) orders.
- Prepare electrical scope quotations for the sales team.
- Design electrical engineering solutions, following best practices, relevant codes, and customer specifications.
- Utilize CAD software to create detailed drawing packages.
- Program PLCs, HMIs, and connectivity equipment.
- Assist with the procurement of electrical components.
- Develop functional descriptions and operating manuals as needed.
- Validate functional performance through hardware testing and documentation.
- Provide technical support to Customers and Field Technicians, troubleshooting automation issues on-site (including travel and direct communication with customers and suppliers).
- Contribute to group continuous improvement initiatives and specific product line research and development.
- Expect up to 30% travel, both domestically and internationally.
Compensation:
$80,000-$100,000
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
