About the client and role
Our client is a leading automotive parts manufacturer, they are looking for a Maintenance Manager. You will be responsible for leading maintenance and process improvements, whilst managing plastic component production machinery.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing all maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Providing training to maintenance technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Ordering and monitoring the consumption of spare parts to ensure availability and cost-efficiency.
- Organizing and planning work orders to ensure timely and effective maintenance interventions.
- Encouraging a proactive and proper mindset among maintenance staff for continuous improvement.
- Addressing and resolving complex malfunctions quickly to minimize downtime.
- Analyzing machine breakdowns, and downtime, and conducting preventive maintenance to improve equipment reliability.
- Managing the maintenance budget, including cost control for repairs, parts, and labor to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Ensuring maintenance activities comply with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
Skills and Qualifications
- Have a strong background in an automotive Tier 1 supplier environment, ensuring familiarity with the industry's
- Have experience in both maintenance and process engineering. If not both, a solid maintenance background is preferred.
- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities, with a proven track record of delivering immediate, measurable impact within a team or organization.
- Have hands-on experience operating and maintaining machines used in the production of plastic components.
- Be passionate about driving continuous improvement, with experience in implementing Lean methodologies such as Kaizen and 5S to optimize processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and train maintenance personnel.
- Analyze complex mechanical problems and quickly developing effective solutions will be highly suited to this role.
