Manufacturing Technician I

Schedule: 1st Shift 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday
Pay: $18.00 - 21.00/hr
Duration: 3-month contract
Job Responsibilities:
In this role, you will perform various assembly and testing tasks to ensure high-quality product production with minimal supervision. Key responsibilities include:
- Consistently performing assigned manufacturing tasks such as assembling electro/optical/mechanical systems that require testing, calibrating, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborating with Engineering teams to identify process discrepancies and implement improvements.
- Creating or modifying necessary documentation, including work instructions, batch records, and test methods.
- Maintaining reports on build issues and defects, providing feedback to enhance the process.
- Participating in daily stand-up meetings for task assignment and tracking.
Essential Duties and Job Functions:
- Perform work order processing to complete products for inventory, ensuring the highest standards of quality.
- Assemble piece parts into completed sub-assemblies using typical assembly tools like screwdrivers, wire crimping tools, and small wrenches.
- Utilize hand tools, electronic, and pneumatic tooling to complete mechanical, electrical, and optical assemblies.
- Troubleshoot issues down to the component level of PCBs and electromechanical assemblies.
- Perform functional tests on finished products following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure proper operation.
- Collaborate closely with team members to resolve assembly and testing challenges and meet production goals.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Familiarity with lasers, laser-optics, electro-optics, electronics, or a related technical field is required.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
- Experience with SOPs, travelers, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and handle competing priorities.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex electromechanical systems.
Education & Experience:
- Relevant technical experience in manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Prior experience in a similar role involving electro/optical/mechanical systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with quality and regulatory standards in manufacturing is desirable.
