ASSYST is currently seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our clients team and assist in developing comprehensive documentation for our client.

Location: Austin, TX (Remote)
Position Overview:
As a Technical Writer, you will collaborate closely with project staff to create technical product documentation for end-users of a complex database system. You will be responsible for producing detailed documentation, including tutorials, user guides, troubleshooting manuals, and reference manuals, ensuring that all materials are accessible and user-friendly. You will also be tasked with gathering feedback, creating video tutorials, and providing technical support within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project staff to develop technical documentation for the Texas Air Emissions Repository (TexAER) database.
- Outline, format, and produce comprehensive program and end-user documentation, integrating appropriate visualizations.
- Create various documentation types, including tutorials, user guides, troubleshooting manuals, and reference manuals.
- Collect and document feedback from staff on draft documents and incorporate changes as directed by your supervisor.
- Produce video tutorials that adhere to TCEQ, DIR, and World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) specifications and standards.
- Communicate effectively with individuals of varying technical backgrounds and provide technical support and testing as needed.
Experience Requirements:
- 8 years of required experience in web page user interface design and developing end-user documents for complex relational database applications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with people at all technical levels.
- 5 years of preferred knowledge in the following areas:
- Limitations and capabilities of computer systems and their integration with end-user business processes.
- Skills in preparing technical documents of varying complexities for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting data.
