I am seeking a Food Safety and Quality Manager to lead and elevate the Food Safety, Quality, and Sanitation teams of a progressive and forward thinking food business. This critical role ensures the operations run efficiently while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards for our manufactured products. You will be the go-to expert for Food Safety and Sustainability trends, regulations, and legislations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Policy Development: Provide guidance on policy, training, and support across departments to ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Standardization & Implementation: Develop and update FSQ, sustainability, and sanitation policies and procedures. Ensure production processes meet established standards.
- Strategic Direction: Focus on ESG issues impacting performance and risk. Set common structures and management systems to ensure product integrity.
- Innovation: Research and implement new technologies to enhance sustainability, food safety, quality, and traceability.
- Performance Metrics: Develop benchmarks and metrics to measure food safety performance against industry standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Lead regulatory and audit teams, develop compliance programs, and manage investigations and reporting of quality issues.
- Quality Control: Manage non-conforming products, ensuring proper control, minimizing losses, and preventing future occurrences.
- Team Leadership: Supervise the FSQ and Sanitation/Sustainability team, fostering personal and professional development through coaching, feedback, training, and onboarding.
- Professional Growth: Stay current on industry trends by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and networking.
- Collaboration: Contribute to team efforts, support departmental objectives, and align with corporate mission and strategic goals.
Qualifications:
- Solid understanding and experience with HACCP/HARPC/FMSA/PC/food safety plan development and certification.
- Proven track record in people leadership and adaptability.
- High commitment to food safety and continuous improvement.
