Nicsa is a not-for-profit trade association connecting all facets of the global asset and wealth management industry to advance leading practices. Nicsa member firms include asset managers, wealth managers, broker-dealers, and professional services firms.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a results-oriented individual to lead Nicsa’s efforts in managing member relationships with asset and wealth managers and drive all activities related to product and distribution. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability to develop and lead strategy through execution and results, have strong relationship management skills, and experience partnering with senior leadership within the front office segment of asset and wealth management. The candidate should have knowledge and experience with asset and wealth management products, understand the role of distribution within firms, and demonstrate an understanding of how products are sold and marketed.
The candidate will strategically execute a plan to further Nicsa’s efforts to recruit and engage asset and wealth managers and understand their unique opportunities and challenges as part of a strategic membership recruitment and engagement effort. The candidate will also lead initiatives that broaden Nicsa’s investment product coverage topics within committees and events, including Alternative Investments, SMAs, and Model Portfolios.
Specific Job responsibilities:
- Lead the expansion of participating firms and industry professionals within the Nicsa Community through recruitment of new member firms, while driving increased engagement with current member firms.
- Drive strategy for Nicsa in connecting with industry leaders to ensure alignment on agreed-upon mission, vision, and values.
- Plan and coordinate all committee activities focused on product and distribution, which include, but are not limited to, the Product and Distribution Committee, Alternative Investments, and Separately Managed Accounts and Model Portfolio committees. Onboard new Nicsa committees where strategically appropriate.
- Actively engage with industry professionals to stay informed on industry trends, identify common product and distribution practices, and understand challenges and strategies.
- Provide content and discussion topics regarding the distribution of asset and wealth management vehicles through various intermediary channels.
- Plan and articulate strategy for further member engagement with asset and wealth managers, as well as distribution partners as part of Nicsa’s strategic goals.
- Create a business plan to expand Nicsa’s programs and events related to alternative investment products and services.
- Participate in Nicsa’s conference planning committees and work with committee members to create product and distribution-related content as part of the program. Participate in speaker recruitment efforts.
- Act as a resource for developing topics for Nicsa webinars.
Collaboration and Relationship Management
- Collaborate with the Executive Director, Head of Operations, and Events by participating in the Strategic Leadership Forum and Asset and Wealth Management Summit to coordinate topics and speakers focused on product and distribution.
- Collaborate with the Vice President, Membership to drive member recruitment and member engagement for asset and wealth managers.
Qualifications
- BA and a minimum of 10 years experience in product, distribution, or national accounts as a wealth or asset manager.
- Strong knowledge of product distribution, servicing, and the various products in the asset and wealth management space.
- Established relationships across industry participants supporting fund distribution through intermediaries, including traditional, clearing, and independent broker/dealers; private wealth management companies; and service providers.
- Knowledge of back-, middle- and front-office distribution for asset management products, managed accounts, and wealth management platforms.
- An understanding of the roles of marketing, sales professionals, and wholesalers.
- Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate concurrent projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a remote environment independently with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills.
