DataStaff, Inc is in need of an IT Security Architect for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients located in Richmond, VA.
*This position is hybrid, on site monthly meetings required.
Our client is seeking an experienced Security Technology Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our IT Security team. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of security technologies and best practices, providing guidance and expertise to enhance our security posture and address emerging threats. This position is a hybrid between the two roles; A cross between a security generalist and technical person who’s familiar and worked with different security tool implementations.
Responsibilities:
- Help find solutions to security business needs along with helping to identify gaps in our current tool set.
- Play a part in ensuring that we are actively working to improve products
- Serve as the primary resource for security technology solutions, providing insights and recommendations on best practices and emerging trends.
- Evaluate and recommend security technologies that align with organizational goals, ensuring they meet security standards and compliance requirements.
- Help guide the deployment and integration of security technologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure effective implementation.
- Identify potential security risks and vulnerabilities, advising on risk mitigation strategies and solutions.
- Assist in the creation and refinement of security policies and procedures, ensuring they reflect current technologies and compliance standards.
- Work closely with stakeholders across the organization to align security initiatives with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills:
- 5 Years - Experience in information security, with a focus on security technologies.
- 5 Years - Proven expertise in specific security technologies (e.g., SIEM, DLP, IAM, cloud security)
- 3 Years - Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex security concepts in a clear and relatable manner.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desired Skills:
- 3 Years - Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- 3 Years - Proficient in documentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Confluence).
- 3 Years - Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP) preferred.
- 3 Years - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- 3 Years - Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in project management and leading cross-functional initiatives
