Founded in 2013, we’ve SET ourselves apart by providing unmatched service and unparalleled communication to our customers. Using advanced technology and tracking solutions, SET has assembled a vast nationwide network of contracted third-party motor carriers who operate reliably, punctually, and professionally – every time. Our customers are able to “SET it, and forget it.”
JOB DETAILS
Each month, SET coordinates thousands of freight shipments across all freight modes and equipment types. Our team is the best at keeping these shipments running smoothly, but sometimes things happen. If cargo arrives damaged, off-spec, missing, or otherwise not right, our customers look to SET to solve the problem.
In this role as Compliance & Claims Administrator, you will serve SET’s customers by continuously improving our motor carrier Compliance protocols – avoiding issues before they become problems – and facilitating claims against the carriers (or the appropriate insurance) on the rare occasions when something goes wrong. You will be responsible for helping avoid fraudulent actors, thoughtfully considering the facts of each claim scenario, determining fault, notifying all parties involved, and working quickly and creatively to resolve all claims with win-win outcomes as much as possible. Additionally, you will help spot emerging risks, insurance coverage issues, and repeat offenders, and will work directly with SET’s executive leadership to refine our insurance, contractual, and personnel management processes to keep SET on the cutting edge.
Team collaboration is essential to this role. This is an in-office position at a dedicated desk (Birmingham, AL) during normal business hours. In summary, you will:
- Provide input and administration of SET’s motor carrier Compliance protocols
- Oversee the full life cycle of every claim.
- Maintain detailed records and notes for each claim file.
- Identify responsible party(ies) and available insurance coverage (if any) and for each claim scenario.
- File claims against motor carriers and their insurers where needed.
- Work with SET’s Accounting team to apply proper account deductions / credits for claims.
- Negotiate with motor carriers and their insurance representatives to resolve claims.
- Communicate with customers and internal sales / account teams regarding claim progress.
- Provide periodic claim reports to SET leadership.
- Assist with special insurance placements as needed (individual Cargo ‘riders’, etc.).
- Decide when (if ever) to connect motor carrier(s) or insurer(s) with SET’s customers/claimants.
- Effectively establish SET’s claim resolution process as a value-add for our customers.
